Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coder. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing clinical statements and assigning standard codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II classification systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code medical records for procedures, diagnoses, and treatments.
- Review and verify patient data to ensure correct coding.
- Ensure compliance with medical coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify information and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in medical coding.
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field.
- Experience in coding for specific medical specialties.
- Additional coding certifications such as CCS, CCA, or RHIT.
